The Lower East Side has always been one of the best neighborhoods in the city for a cheap drink. Dive bars, cocktail dens, and shot-and-beer joints pack the blocks around Ludlow and Rivington, with happy hour deals that start early and often run late. The neighborhood attracts a young crowd, and the competition between bars keeps prices honest. If you're looking for volume and variety, this is the spot.
