The East Village has one of the densest concentrations of dive bars in the city, and happy hour here reflects that scrappy energy. Cheap shots, discounted pints, and no-frills cocktails dominate the scene along Avenue A and St. Marks Place. But there's range too, with newer cocktail bars and wine spots filling in the gaps. Most deals kick off in the late afternoon and run well into the evening.
